You're a child of my body, but not my own
and a miracle to see,
a precious, wonderful gift from God
growing inside of me.
Our time together won't be for life,
nor will we ever bond
but I've chosen to be your surrogate mom,
to forever bring a song.
To the parents who love you very much
and are willing to let me share
in bringing you into this beautiful world
in a way that is so rare.
